The main scientific achievements of the Institute of Geological Sciences named after K.I. Satpaev
In the field of regional geology:
Atlas of reference stratigraphic sections of Kazakhstan. 2010.
Catalog of stratotypes for general, regional, and zonal divisions of the Paleozoic, and their boundaries. 2010.
Awarding the international status "9th tier Silver Nail" to the Cambrian tier of the Suzak system section of Kyrsabakty in the Small Karatau. 2010.
Matalogenograms were compiled for 78 structural-formational zones (SFZ) of the Paleozoic folded systems (SS) of Kazakhstan: Ural, Zaysan, Kokshetau-North Tianshan, Zhetysu-Balhash, and Shingys-Tarbagatai.
A Tectonic Map of Kazakhstan at a scale of 1:1,000,000 was created in three languages with an explanatory note.
A Map of Alpine Tectonics of Kazakhstan at a scale of 1:1,000,000 was created with an explanatory note and implemented by the Committee of Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Investments and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 2012.
The Metallogenic Map of Kazakhstan (Paleozoic) was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2009.
A Metallogenic Map of the Mesozoic-Cenozoic Cover of Kazakhstan was compiled at a scale of 1:1,000,000 (in three languages).
In the field of metallogeny and ore formation:
A Metallogenic map of Kazakhstan was created at a scale of 1:1,000,000 (in three languages) and implemented by the Committee for Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2009, it was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the field of oil and gas field geology:
The forecasted hydrocarbon resources have been assessed for oil and gas accumulation zones within the Caspian, Ustyurt, Mangyshlak, and Torgai sedimentary basins. Priority objects have been identified in the Caspian Basin:
Caspian Sea area: Tengiz-Kashagan, Prorvinsky (within the Zhambay-Zaburun and Martynshinsk oil and gas-bearing areas);
Onshore areas: Sagiz, South-Emba, Shubarkuduk-Akjar, and Martynshinsk objects.
In the field of mineralogy and geochemistry:
In the past 25 years, employees of the mineralogy sector of the K.I. Satpaev Institute of Geological Sciences have discovered, studied, and described 15 new mineral species, which were approved by the Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature, and Classification of the International Mineralogical Association. In recent years, the Institute has discovered new mineral species approved by the Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature, and Classification of the International Mineralogical Association:
